This is our second front load machine after 22 years with our previous Whirlpool front load machine. The Speed Queen seems to mostly do what it should, but I am disappointed after spending 2.5 times the cost of a normal machine to still have the same noise and vibration issues while attempting to balance loads that we experienced with our old Whirlpool machine. I had hoped that this front load issue would have been improved by now.

Great Washer but the door does not shut very good -- meaning that we have to shut the door very hard, if we don't the light keeps flashing and ringing meaning please shut the door. Then we need to slam it shut harder than I should have to. I think. Then all is good. Maybe that is the way it is designed ot close. I need to stop down to the dealer to find out the correct way to shut the door or if it need adjusting.

These washers are built on the same chassis as those that survive coin op laundromats, college dorms, and the local elementary school. Washes everything that I have put in it, and NO UNBALANCE ERRORS! Quiet too, and heavy. Only full sized front loader with non-porous stainless steel outer tub, so will have way less smell issues than porous plastic

The first problem a code popped up. Unplugged Washing Machine for 5 minutes didn't work unplug Machine overnight worked. Soap dispenser overflowed. Called dealer concerned about high water pressure. Water pressure was at 90 psi manual recommend 20 to 110 psi
Installed water pressure regularly at 40 psi worked. I seem that I know more than your tech people. Very very disappointing start for washing machine that 9s supposed to be the best. I have owned junk in the past. After a very poor start working ok now.

The dispenser drawer drips with 2.2 GPH flow restrictors. The door gasket leaks a bit. Tried calling during the day and the offices were closed. The outfit that does warranty repair "evaluation" charged us $80 and was insulting/threatening and customer blaming. No Bueno.

This is the highest quality home washing machine sold in the USA. It costs twice as much as competitors, but is five times the quality. If your tired of expensive junk with a lot of plastic chrome, designer colors, unreliable functionality, this is the product for you. Made in Wisconsin by probably the largest commercial manufacturer of washing machines and extractors world-wide, you don't have to be an engineer to recognize the quality and superior design. My last Samsung lasted 4 years and could not be repaired under warranty. I had enough! I purchased my unit off the floor because I don't have time to waste. I am not disappointed in the least. The speed and quality of the wash saves me time. The spin cycle sounds like a jet engine winding up. The clothes come out almost dry, which save drying time and energy. I can't a test to the Speed Queen dryer, but the washer is second to none. I also added the extended base which bolts directly to the bottom and is part of the machine. It's not a flimsy stand with a drawer, It's heavy gauge steel. If you want glitzy junk go somewhere else. You want quality that washing clothes and is built to be reliable and last then buy a Speed Queen FF7! Now I'm tempted to acquire the dryer, but I am not sure if the quality and functionality matches the washing machine? Let me know!

Washes clothes well. Quick cycles and lots of cycle options. Door lock mechanism sometimes doesn't work when there are no obstructions. I usually open and shut the door again and it is fine. I bought this for its long-term durability and fixability.

This washer has leaked out the front door and out the soap dispenser from day one. I was willing to live with that. Then 2 months in something went wrong internally and there is a very loud clunking noise with each cycle of the drum. I obviously can't use it like this. What I was not told when I purchased the machine was that SQ has to approve who works on your machine. All of the service companies they sent me were over an hour away. Obviously none of them are going to drive that far. They then told me I could hire a company of my choice, BUT they would only cover $250 AND the company I use has to contact them to order all parts. So, basically I bought a very expensive piece of junk with a joke of a so-called "warranty". I have now been without a washer for a month. I will never purchase another SQ product again.

I love the functionality of this product, however, I had issues with the detergent dispenser running over when water began to enter the dispenser. A rep for Speed Queen finally fixed it by changing a part that reduced the amount of water coming into the machine. When opening and closing the machine, it sounds like you are opening something very uninsulated, tin can ish. Sorry Speed Queen! While the product cleans very well, you definitely need to improve the overall quality of the machine. I paid of the line product and am disappointed.

I've had front loaders for years. My last washer was an extra large capacity, which I loved. My husband bought me this machine and I am disappointed. The load size is smaller thank I am used to, so now I am doing more loads. There is no interior light, so I have resorted to keeping a flashlight next to the washer so I a make sure nothing is left behind. I asked my husband to never purchase without asking me again. ;) All-in-all, its a decent machine, but it lacks what I really need

For our last-ever set of washer/dryer we decided to step up to the top, and buy a Speed Queen pair. The washer: It washes clothes VERY effectively, but it "bangs" in spin. We had a repairman out, and I showed him that in spin, the right-rear shock makes the noise and it it seemingly amplified by the metal cabinet. Our Whirlpool pairs didn't do this. And to make the point, I ran a cycle with almost nothing in it (a couple rags) and it still did it. We run it on the slower spin, and the noise is cut down some.
Hindsight is 20:20, but I would have bought another Whirlpool pair. They aren't perfect either (mold on the seal), but quieter. Doesn't SQ try these things out at the factory???

My clothes come out so much cleaner and with no residue on them. I had a Whirlpool wash machine which I had for just under 5 years. I had to have service once and then within a year I was going to have service on the unit again. I then decided to check in to a Speed Queen. I'm so glad I made a Speed Queen purchase!

I bought a front load Soren Queen 1.5 yrs ago. After using it a while I noticed an odor to all our clothes/linens. I had to pre wash most things because they weren't getting clean. Had the washer looked at and was told nothing was wrong. When I called the company to tell them they told me this washer actually doesn't wash clothes that well and I should sell it and buy a top loader. I was told when I bought the machine it was comparable to the top loader, just used less water. What a joke. Asked Speed Queen if they'd swap it out for a top loader but they wouldn't. False advertising at its best. Because of this I will never buy another speed queen and will definitely tell everyone I know about their shady business practices.

After a month of use, I am very happy I spent the money and purchased this washing machine. I was originally going to purchase a top-loader, but wanted to use less water as we are on a well. I was concerned with the smaller drum size at first, but I have had no issues because you are encouraged to fill items to the top of the drum, per the instruction manual. I only need to use a small amount of detergent and have used liquid, powder, and laundry sheets successfully. I mostly use the Heavy Duty cycle, as I don't believe the Normal (eco) mode uses enough water to properly clean the clothes. There are many options to choose from to customize each cycle. The high speed spin is so fast (with minimal vibration) that the clothes and towels come out almost dry. Between the reduced wash time (from my old machine) and the spin cycle working so well, my laundry time has been greatly reduced.

This is my first Speed Queen machine and I hope it lasts for many years, as they state. It is a well constructed easy to use machine. Water efficiency is amazing and my clothes come out clean.
I have learned that pods do not work best in this machine liquid detergent is better. The pods did not meltaway as they should have and left a residue which easily came off when I rewashed the load.
Overall I love this machine. It is very quiet during operation unlike my previous washer.

My old top load washer wasn't able to wash Towels or Sheets without throwing a code and stopping due to being out of balance so I did alot of research when I found the Speed Queen front load Washer & Dryer and so I purchased it on the spot from 1st Choice Appliance and have loved them ever since, they work fantastic on both small loads and yes large loads too and now i'm super excited to see if they last 20 plus years like many reviews state that they do. This Speed Queen front load washer is top notch. It is taller than I am used to even without the optional base. I think I will actually be fine without a base because of that. I love the simple design of the keypad and it makes selection of your cycle easy. It just sounds like a quality machine during a cycle. The 3000 rpm spin cycle gets my clothes almost dry before I put them in the dryer which certainly helps with the dry cycle. Clothes are perfectly clean each time no matter t he cycle selected and with little help from me beforehand. My retailer also educated me on using powder detergent and only 2 tablespoons to extend the life of my machine even further so I have been doing that and it is true that it cleans with way less product than the detergent manufacturers suggest and saves on wear and build up inside my machine. The cycles are typical and reasonable amounts of time so you get on with your day. The signal at the end was a bit low for my hearing even on the loudest setting but I have heard others say their older machine was way to loud so maybe there will be a happy medium there one day. I just love everything about this front loader. I am so thrilled I will have it for so long that I may get tired of it and replace it but not because it failed and I was forced to unlike those other washer brands did. I do pop the door open after a cycle to allow the moisture to dry out simply because I am accustomed to doing that with my old washer where I had no problems with mildew smells like some do. I will take the suggestion of my retailer and use Simple Green spray once a week on the rubber seal at the bottom because it see it really does collect lint and gunk way better than any of my other washers so I know it is doing a superior job. Just touching this machine you can tell it is made with quality materials just like in the olden days. I'm just so pleased. This may be my last washer to ever buy!!

My Speed Queen FF7009 replace a Speed Queen top load that was about 10 years old. A control board failed and we decided to get a front load machine. We ordered in early March, but the machine did not arrive until May 21. After a few uses, it began leak from the detergent board. It took 2 service calls to get the correct replacement water inlet/mixing valve, a different part number than the original valve, and it was installed Monday 6/23. Otherwise the machine seems to work well, cleaning and clothes are damp dry when done, much less water in them than the former top load. If you own this machine, and are experiencing the same problem, know there's a fix, and be sure to get the correct replacement part, not the same part # originally installed in the machine, Note also the original is made from blue plastic, and the replacement is yellow plastic.

Yes, it's on the higher end price wise, but just like an American muscle cars, you're not just paying for looks you're paying for American engineering, power, and performance. The washing machines are truly built in industrial fashion. The unfortunate rating is due to problems experienced with the delivery where the machine had transit damage, which is not Speed Queen's fault, but when the local vendor tried to contact Speed Queen customer service to resolve...they were purposefully not helpful.
We had two service technicians come out on two different dates where the service technicians contradicted each other.
As a customer, who am I supposed to believe?
I manually took out the transit damage dent, after getting no relief from either technician or the vendor who I purchased from and am simply using the washing machine as-is.
Good thing I have a 5 year warranty should any complications arise from the transit damage.
